Great for diving but not so great for snorkeling. The reef is very far out and at times the current was very strong. Prices for trips to see the whale sharks were quite expensive at 75 USD. And there were tons of other boats at the same spots - very zoo-like.
Bikini beach, the only beach you can swim at in only your bathing suit is fairly shallow and windy. The better beach beside it requires you to be clothed.
However, the local people are super nice and helpful.

The staff tries to keep it very clean. They are friendly and would help with anything. The food is varied and very rich. The massage therapists are at a very good level. I did not like the markup of goods in the only store. The ratio is ten times.

Firstly to clarify the resort is located in Theluveligaa, not Dhangethi. Theluveligaa is a small island, I was a solo traveller (mid 30s female) the water villa is amazing and the outside space is spacious with a lot of seating options. I hardly spent time on the beach. The resort itself is very quiet even when full. There are no motorised sports however you can kayak, snorkel and dive (you can get your licence there) and do other trips: Whale Sharks, Mantas, Turtles. The food options are good, drinks are expensive a juice will set you back $18 staff are friendly, especially the dive instructors (Julia & Ebu) and receptionist (Maria) I would definitely recommend this resort and felt safe on my own.

Quiet, lovely colourful houses, quite small but surrounded by other islands. Head for the jetty especially at sunset. Two recommended cafes/ restaurants: Compass with its verandah dining tables where you can watch rays and baby nurse sharks being fed at dusk - the maitre d’ - Sampath was charming and obliging and the food was amazing. Try also the Blue Moon Cafe with the equally charming Anup as maitre d’. Not much coral as the island is surrounded by sea grass

A beautiful location. with some good snorkeling, which is provided by "Mother Nature" not the resort.
In all other respects the resort is poor to terrible.
We paid £10,500 for 10 days A.I.P; party of 4 in two poorly maintained Jacuzzi water villas. (Not a Jacuzzi- brand name - a Sovereign Spa Hot tub.)
Some services offered simply don't work, and management are fully aware of this but continue to advertise.
Guests are treated with disdain and rudeness by client relations team/management who are not visible.
Included trips - Sunset Punch / Dhangethi are an excuse to try and take some more cash from their guests.
They offer only excuses...."we are on an island so it is difficult to.....(insert complaint here)"
"All Inclusive MInus" is a better description of their package.
Got much better service, food, accommodation and customer care in Mauritius/Zanzibar/Thailand/Florida/Dubai/Turkey/Madeira/Cyprus/ Marakech etc etc.

The great place to just relax and do nothing.
The great place to just relax and do nothing. Its a small island so don't expect very busy night life. But the beach is great, local snorkeling and diving is great. Local people are great. So a must see location.
Everything! Location was perfect with a great sea view.. the bed was very good. Everything clean. The food also excellent. We book several trips for snorkelling with the whale shark, fishing and we were lucky the first time. Second time we didnt see the whale shark due to the weather. But the best af all was Suny and his friendly staff, always taking good care of us and helping us in everything. Our holiday to Maldives was fantastic! Thanks to Suny and his staff. I think is the best place to stay in Dhangethi. Honestly.
WONDERFUL & AMAIZING Resort !!
with a very nice crew that’s serving us & treating us nicely “specially ms.Hajar, Mr.Juin or John, ms.Sri & the two bar tenders Emam & the Other guy” & All the rest of the hotel crew..

food are variable & delicious in-room & at the buffet.
a beautiful, quite and Romantic resort i had relaxed in 😌 with my wife..
I’m so thankful For the hospitality,
wish to visit Amaya Kuda Rah resort again. 😊🌹
This hotel is amazing not just it's facilities but it's surroundings. The water is so clear you can see many type of fiches and sea animals as sharks, mantas, needle fish and so on. The people is lovely, and I want to say that thanks to the hospitality of Shamak from relationship staff, Adam from House keeping and Paulo from buffet everything was lovely.
The rooms are gorgeous! And all has amazing views. Food is unbelievable. Definitely my best hotel
A very well sized hotel, just as we like it, and it is run by locals and not by a corporate chain, and this was also of importance for us when we booked. The is something like an authentic local life on the island, that is something we also appreciated. For travellers who do like individuality it's the perfect choice. The architecture is simple but nice, the location is excellent, the stuff is unobtrusive, helpful and very kind.
I chose this hotel based on the ratings of the house reef. I saw over 60 of the nearly 300 fish species in this area. It was great to be able to go into the sea directly from my water villa. The spa treatments were excellent, and it was very relaxing to watch the fish through the glass window in the floor during the treatment session. The waiter service provided by Mr Meezad was excellent. The room was spacious and clean.
It's a nice and quiet little hotel in the south near the bikini beach and my dive shop. The rooms were spacious, very clean and tidy👌They also provide beach towels! Wifi was very good and rooms had A/C and fan.
Special thanks to Chandana who is extremely friendly, picked me up from the harbour, kept my room spotless and provided a nice continental breakfast every morning perfectly on time before diving 🙏
Tholal is an amazing host. Nothing is too much to ask and there are lots of facilities and services available. The kitchen, laundry machine, and snorkeling gear were all free to use.
We can also really recommend Dhangethi as a hoiday destination The locals are all very friendly and the island provides many activities. It is probably one of the best places to book diving and whale spotting trips from!
Very kind owners and a very charming little hotel, very close to the beach. I appreciated the owner's arrangement with boats, honesty, and kindness. The rooms are big and with great windows on the garden. it is all on one floor, so very accessible. This is exactly what I was looking for in booking a small localy run hotel in this small island. Beach is few meters away ( one small block)
Ahmed the owner was fantastic. He went out of his way to be helpful. Took two snorkeling trips and saw a giant manta rays and whale sharks. His hospitality was super excellent. He even invited us to have dinner at his home. I don’t think I could say enough good things about him and Dhangethi Inn. The island itself was so charming. I’ll never forget the experience.
The manager Osny and his team were very attentive to ensuring that our stay was pleasant. Banyan Villa is very quiet with its garden and food was very good. We enjoyed our holidays in the authentic village Dhangethi and our dives with South Ari dive were great. We’ve seen whale shark, eagle rays, manta ray, dolphins, etc. thanks to Shaaley, Dan and the while team
The location is great and the breakfast very tasty! Especially their local one! Staff is very friendly and available. We been in Maldives for 9months, visit different resorts and local island, and we can high recommend Dhangethi and of course la luna Boutique for your stay, is just a perfect combination of relax, peace and art.
Thanks one more time!
Mr. Areef was absolutely amazing! He was like our man on the island, taking us to places, receiving us, giving a tour of the island, telling us and doing whatever you ask for! He even helped us take our luggage to our next hotel and transport us there. Totally trustworthy! We couldn't ask for more! Absolutely recommended!
Areef was an incredible host. Dhangethi is a beautiful island. Rooms were clean and modern. Showers hot and AC cold 👍🏼
Breakfast was very filling and Areef was willing to adapt it to your preferences.
The excursions were great!
A lovely intimate small guest house that is able to give you a bespoke experience.
Very nice hotel in the centre of the island. Among advantages- clean rooms and public areas, quite good kitchen, spacious rooms. This is the only hotel with the swimming pool which is a salvation and entertainment for kids. Overall we had a lovely stay at the hotel and can recommend as the best choice for Dhangheti.
Communication with the hotel prior to the arrival was very good. The staffs were always very attentive. There are plenty of food options (mostly meat) and they use a lot of spices. Facilities are good and well maintained.
Oh it was really perfect stay. Great location to just relax. Guys there are truly amazing and helpful. Eager to help. While I was staying the hotel was new and alive. I certainly can recommend to stay here.
Food was great. Loved the pool and the privacy hotel provides. Staff was very helpful.
Went on a turtle snorkel. They know exactly where to find turtles. Beautiful and clear had long swim with turtle.
I loved the people of dhangethi , especially the hosts (I would prefer friends ) Shaameen , Hussain and shaameens friends bore who made me and my partners stay the best days of our life
Wonderful island with great beach
Rooms were very nice and the hosts were friendly and helpful
You could hear the nearby mosques from the hotel which was beautiful
